Getting around: The best way to get around is by car because shopping, dining, and entertainment locations are distant. Driving in the Vancouver area is generally smooth and the easiest way to reach the Gulf Islands, the northern coast, or the Fraser Valley. Public buses stop in front of the hotel but a transfer at Richmond Centre is needed to reach downtown Vancouver. Once downtown, the elevated SkyTrain light rapid transit system can be used in the city and out to other suburbs. From the Waterfront SkyTrain station, a passenger ferry called SeaBus crosses Burrard Inlet to North Vancouver. Single fares for buses, SkyTrain, and SeaBus are less than $5 CDN.
